is data transfer?
Data Transfer is the total size of file transferred
and generated from ftp upload, download and browsing
web pages from your account.
Where
are the servers located? And how is the bandwidth
of the datacenter?
Keynet' s Server uses Linux O/S, located at
Hong Kong's Datacenter, all together equipped with
over 1300Mbps bandwith connected to HKIX¡BNetplus¡BUUNET.
We also provide umlimited bandwidth to all out
clients.
Does
KeyNet provide any trial account?
Keynet does not provide any trial account for clients,
but you can try to download a file http://www.keynet.com.hk/icq.exe to
test the speed.
What
is the difference between "Domain
Only User"
and "Domain with web-hosting user"?
"Domain Only User" refers to users
who registered their domain name through KeyNet but
did not use our web-hosting service."Domain
with web-hosting user" refers to user who registered
their domain name through KeyNet and used our web-hosting
service at the same time.
Do
I need to provide a student card for applying
student hosting plan?
No, it is not required.
Are
my price and services I bought in special
offer sustainable?
It
will be sustained usually under most of the circumstances.

Yes, if you possessed the copyright and right
from the related authorities.

Game site using Flash and JavaScript is allowed.
But CGI game site is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

KeyNet support Frontpage

Yes, we support Frontpage's ftp and FrontPage
Server Extension.

the hosting plans support
ASP?
No.

KeyNet support FTP Function?
Yes, of course.
Does
KeyNet support .htaccess password protect?
Yes.

KeyNet's hosting plans include a domain registration?
No, but hosting clients can use a discount price
to register a domain.

KeyNet provide
Telnet or WebMail?
We provide WebMail to the email users, but we
do not provide Telnet access to the clients because
of security reasons.

is the Perl, PHP and MySQL version which
KeyNet uses?
Perl 5.8, PHP4.4, MySQL 4.0 or above
What
is MySQL? Do I need it?
MySQL is one kind of database which is used
online. Database is to store a huge amount of
data in a clear structure which can fasten the data
retrieval. General Website does not need to use such
function except you would install a phpBB forum or
some MySQL programs.
What
is the storage of MySQL?
MySQL storage space is calculated together with
the web space.
How
to upgrade my hosting plan? How much is required?
Existing Clients could contact us for upgrade.
We will inform you the price for upgrade by email.
The upgrade will not have additional charges. After
we received your payment for upgrade, we will make
the upgrade within 1 day accordingly. Since our
webhosting and email service charges yearly, if
you have used our service for 6 months, you only
need to pay the remaining 6 six months' upgrade
fee.
Which version of Java and Tomcat do we use?
Our JVM is running Tomcat 5.0.19 under Sun JDK
1.4.2_04.
Could
I use Jsp/Servlet to connect MySQL database?
Yes, sure.

How
much space for the email account? How is it
calculated?
All new clients could make use of Qmailadmin
which is a web-based email account management
interface to set up quota for each account or share
quota for all accounts.
Old Clients :
Each account will be default as 5MB.If you would like to change the default
settings, please inform us by email. We will change the settings for you within
1 working day.
What
is Forwarders and Autoresponders?
A
forwarder is an email redirect tool that redirects
your emails to another mail account e.g. aaa@hotmail.com.
Each email account could set up its forwarders.
Autoresponders is an automatic email that sends to the sender immediately
to notify him that the email was received.The autoresponder's email is configurable.

Do
I need to pay for exceeding email quota?
No, you don't need pay for over-quota storage. It is because once the
quota is excceded, your account will not receive any email until the quota is enough
to receive new emails. The sender will receive
an email notification that tells the sender about the account over-quota.

to renew my services in KeyNet?
We
will send email notification to all clients about
the renewal 1 month before the expiry date
. Existing clients can follow the payment method
and amount stated in the email to renew their
services before the expiry date.
If
clients would like to upgrade or transfer to
another package, it is required to fill in the
online
application form again and make the payment as
a new application.

If you domain name is www.test.com, abc.test.com can be one of the sub-domains. This is to divide you website into different divisions in
order to have a better management.
